STAINMASTER® Carpet Fibers
When it comes to carpet most consumers have heard of STAINMASTER carpets, but many consumers don't realize that STAINMASTER is not a carpet manufacturer. Instead, it is the leading nylon carpet fiber brand produced by Invista, who’s parent company is Koch Industries, Inc. INVISTA is one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers, primarily for nylon, spandex and polyester applications. For more information, visit www.INVISTA.com.
STAINMASTER carpet fibers are sold to many of the carpet manufacturers who take the nylon and make it into tufted carpeting. This is why you see the STAINMASTER label on the back of so many carpet samples from different carpet mills. In order to use the STAINMASTER label on their samples and in their product offerings carpet mills must follow Invista's rigid requirements and rigorous testing.
What makes STAINMASTER so special? For one, STAINMASTER fibers are made using the nylon type 6.6 fibers, which are known for their durability and strength. STAINMASTER also incorporates patented, exclusive fiber shapes which dramatically helps the carpet retain it's texture, resiliency and appearance better than many of other carpet fibers. Plus, all STAINMASTER nylon carpet fibers have built-in stain and soil technology that helps prevent permanent staining from common household foods and beverages and reduces the ability of soil to stick to the carpet. If you are looking for extra softness, STAINMASTER also has special soft fibers too, called: Tactesse® and Luxerell®.
One important thing to note. Invista's STAINMASTER Warranty covers the fiber, not tufting or backing issues. The carpet manufacturer is responsible for the tufting and manufacturing of the carpeting.
